We took the moon as inspiration for the lighting design of this mosque located in Riyadh. By illuminating the façade in a subtle way & creating different intensities of light, we managed to present the mosque as if it is glowing. In order to achieve such an affect, it was important to consider lighting fixtures that have minimal spill of light and high in durability with smart controls.
